'I'm Not Going to Come Home': One Marine's Third Iraq Tour
Shaded by a towering blue spruce in Wheeler Park stands a gray granite monument that honors this city's men and women who have died in combat from the Spanish-American War to, as the memorial reads, "Iraqi Freedom."

U.S. unaware of realities of Iraq war, vet says
Critical of the U.S. media and Bush administration, a veteran of the war in Iraq spoke Thursday night about the realities of the conflict, saying that U.S. soldiers there were ill-equipped, poorly trained and largely unsupportive of the war.

Mother of Soldier Slain in Iraq Speaks Out

She held up family photos of her son Casey as a toddler, at his confirmation, as a 21-year-old in boot camp and then, the photo that appeared in The New York Times last April, of his coffin, his brother kissing it to say goodbye
The Killing Has Got to Stop
I write as a veteran who has a special love for our troops and their families, and as the father of Lt. Benjamin Colgan, who was killed in action in Baghdad on Nov. 1, 2003. I also write on behalf of those who joined me in meeting with Washington Sen. Maria Cantwell last December about this senseless war in Iraq.

Backing for Bush on Iraq is gone, local veterans say
The televisions at VFW Post 2500 in Hollywood were tuned to President Bush on Tuesday, but his words weren't getting rapt attention.

The Case of Sergeant Benderman
When Sgt. Kevin Benderman went to Iraq on March of 2003, he saw the destruction of a nation, he saw a little girl with a burnt arm asking the soldiers for help they were ordered not to provide, he saw people drinking water from mud puddles, and he saw that Iraqis were regular people, just like himself, and that our military should not bring destruction to that country.

My Brother Died for a Ruse
For the first 30 years of my brother Sherwood Baker’s life, his mission was to be a responsible citizen. He made oaths and he honored those oaths. This made him a loving father and husband. This also made him a noble and committed soldier.

'Unit's' military expert has fighting words for Bush
"The harm that has been done is irreparable. There are more than 2,000 American kids that have been killed. Tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis have been killed ñ which no one in the U.S. really cares about those people, do they? I never hear anybody lament that fact. It has been a horror, and this administration has worked overtime to divert the American public's attention from it. Their lies are coming home to roost now, and it's gonna fall apart."

Why This Soldier Can't Support This War
by Justin Gordon
I was a captain with the 2nd Battalion 4th Field Artillery during the invasion of Iraq. My active duty commitment to the military ended in May 2004. In January 2003, I requested a transfer to this battalion to fill an officer vacancy because it was the first battalion from Fort Sill to mobilize during the pre-invasion build up. I, like the rest of us, still felt the deep emotions that followed 9/11. I was told of stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and links to al-Qaeda. I wanted to do my part to protect America.
Letter to President Bush
As a young man I was honored to serve our nation as a commissioned officer and helicopter pilot in the US Navy. Before me in WWII, my father defended the country spending two years in the Pacific aboard the USS Hornet (CV-14). We were patriots sworn "to protect and defend". Today I conclude that you have dishonored our service and the Constitution and principles of our oath.

What’s wrong with cutting and running?
Everything that opponents of a pullout say would happen if the U.S. left Iraq is happening already, says retired Gen. William E. Odom, the head of the National Security Agency during the Reagan administration. So why stay?

Odom: Want stability in the Middle East? Get out of Iraq!
In his last piece for NiemanWatchdog.org, retired Gen. William Odom argued that all the terrible things the Bush administration says would happen if we pulled our troops out of Iraq are happening already. In a new postscript, Odom writes that the converse is true as well: Bush says he wants to bring democracy and stability to the greater Middle East -- but in fact the only way to achieve that goal is to get out of Iraq now.

A Matter of Survival
When I was home in New Hampshire on leave last month, a lot of people approached me to tell what a good job we're doing here in Iraq.  I appreciate the support, but I don't need the media or those people to tell me what I see every day. We are not getting the job done.

AFL-CIO Convention Calls For Troop Withdrawal From Iraq
by David Bacon, Zmag.org
On the second day of its convention in Chicago, the AFL-CIO took an historic step, calling for the rapid withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, and an end to the country's occupation. Public attention has focused largely on the split in US labor, and the decision by two of the federation's largest unions to leave.  Yet the impact of this call will reverberate for years, with as profound effect on the future of US workers and their unions.
Iraq veteran speaks out against war
Former Marine tells ND crowd his experience reshaped his perspective.
Rob Sarra is not a pacifist. Sometimes, the former U.S. Marine sergeant regrettably believes war is a necessary evil.  "But when military power is used, it better be for a ... good reason," Sarra said. "And this was not it."

Mother, son speak out against Iraq War
To my fellow veterans: Are you tired of the bull shit from the War Party, (The Republicans and the Democrats) and their control of the media in stressing how Americans should support the troops by supporting this criminal, fascist, barbaric war?  This veteran is opposed to the warmongers, Bush and "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Iran" McCain, Obama, Clinton, Pelosi, Hoyer, Boehner, McConnell, Pence, Lugar, Bayh III, Levin, Waxman and their "dirty" war. The best way to support our troops is to listen to them. Fort Hood soldiers breaking the silence in war in Iraq, tells it like it is.  "Bring the troops home now!  To betray the trust of our troops by ignoring their requests to "Hey, bring those guys home," is treason. Remember, The National Libertarian Party is the only major political party to be concerned about the welfare of our troops; to call for a withdrawal, "for U.S. forces to withdraw from Iraq as quickly as possible in a manner consistent with the safety of our troops."
Have you read:  "Study:  False statements preceded war."  There were 935 lies in a two year period.  President Bush lied 259 times.  Secretary of State Colin Powell lied 244 times.  National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice lied 56 times.
Also please read , "Truth was first U.S. casualty in Iraq war: Study".
Soldiers and Military Families Speak Out
"Fort Hood soldiers breaking the silence in war in Iraq"
"Hey, bring those guys home," Sgt. Selena Coppa said.  "There is a cost to this war.  This war is being paid in American blood, in my soldier's blood.  And that is not okay." Coppa said.

Support Our Troops, Support Military Families Speak Out:
STOP THE FUNDING; STOP THE KILLING AND
WOUNDING OF AMERICAN TROOPS!
READ THE LATEST PRESS RELEASE FROM MILITARY FAMILIES SPEAK OUT.
This is the latest update to this page,  June 20, 2008.  Memorial Day has passed and July 4th will soon be here. Be patriotic, be sure and wear your Israeli Flag lapel pin. After over five years of  an endless, needless, barbaric, fascist, criminal war based upon lies, deceit and greed, the War Party controlled Congress will continue funding the Iraq occupation with another $ 165 billion.  Despite pleas for withdrawal from Iraq;  from our troops  in Iraq, the Iraq Veterans Against the War, the AFL-CIO, Military Families Speak Out, Vietnam Veterans Against War, Veterans for Peace and dozens of patriotic peace groups, the killing of American troops will continue with the blessings of "Christian America's" leaders in Congress.  Why?
Beause of the influence of Israel and it's main lobby, AIPAC.  The war has to continue until every Arab and Moslem nation in the Middle East is subservient to and controlled by Zionist, Likud, Israel.  This is why "Zionist" Speaker Nancy Pelosi removed the restriction requiring Congressional approval before Bush could order an attack on Iraq. Please read,
"Ron Paul Claims Pelosi Spiked Iran Bill."      .
Who would Jesus torture ? Since President Bush claims to be "God's messenger," do God and Jesus approve of the now documented tortures and murders of detainees? See  "Ex.State Dept. Official :  Hundreds died in U.S. custody, at least 25 murdered."   Since President Bush claims to be "God's messenger," do God and Jesus support the "shock and awe" bombings that have murdered thousands of innocent Iraqi women and children? Who would you torture and murder?
How many times have Senators McCain, Obama, Clinton, Bayh III, "Jewish Joe" Lieberman, Lugar and Speaker  "AIPAC Nancy" Pelosi and Rep. "AIPAC Mike" Pence lied?
