| Dear Fellow Seniors: I wrote the release below, on August 17, 2005, trying to reassure you that your Social Security Trust Funds of $1.7 trillion were secure for your future needs. The trust has over $ 2.2 trillion now, as of today, December 20, 2007. Unfortunately, IN VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW, these monies have all been spent by President Bush, Rep. Pence and both houses of Congress as part of our National Debt. These trust funds, once federal bonds, are now paper I.O.U.s as pledges for our government to repay these funds. Recently, President Bush and Congress, including Rep. Pence, raised the ceiling debt to $ nine trillion, an increase of nearly $ 800 billion. Common sense should tell us that there is no way Bush and Pence and Congress can ever repay these trust funds which they have "embezzled" in violation of federal law! I am no longer a member of AARP. AARP states these surplus trust funds are safe because they are secured by federal bonds. These surplus funds are not secured by federal bonds but by wothless paper I.O.Us. Each citizen; every man, woman and child is in debt $30,000.00 as their share of the National Debt. As my campaign issues, I said that President Bush and Rep. Pence have "Betrayed Our Trust," "Betrayed Our Christian Values," "Betrayed Our American Values" and "Betrayed Our Great Constitution Of The United States of America." As a U.S. veteran and Senior Citizen, I have been opposed to the Iraq War and Occupation because it was based on lies, deceit and greed. If you have read the section on The Iraq War and Occupation, you know now that this whole tragedy had been planned by The Project For A New American Century, a group of Jewish and pro-Israeli warmongers, who want to "reform and modernize" Islam. Their concept is one, I believe, of endless war. Because this war is based on lies, deceit and greed, it has failed and America is now in a quagmire! To finasnce this war, social programs will be cut more and more. The costs of the war today, "Blood Money" are $ 470 billion, with a projected cost of at least three trillion. I blame the apathy and indifference of Americans, especially Seniors, for not speaking out aginst this "criminal carnage" called war. Your Social Security Trust Funds are financing not only this war , but also have provided the funds for a new American Embassy, in the Green Zone, at a cost of $ one billion. Also, your Social Security Trust Funds have been used to send Israel, $13 million per day; That's $ 5 billion per year. Unfortunately, this aid is being used more and more not only to oppress and control the Palestinians in the occupied territories but also enables the Israelis under Olmert's apartheid government to forcibly take more and more land from the Palestinians. Zionist Rep. Mike, "I Love Israel" Pence is the one of the biggest supporters in Congress of sending your Social Security Trust Funds to Israel. I am against sending this aid to Israel, when our National Debt is $ 9 trillion and we have so many needs here at home. Your apathy and indifference, your silence, has been consent for this. When the economy collapses, and there are no Social Security Trust Funds because they have been "embezzled" blame no one but yourself. In Wednesday's Media Release, Republican Congressional Candidate, Sixth District, IN., George Holland praised the Seventieth birthday of America's Social Security System, calling it, "A wonderful reminder of one of the finest, most solvent government programs!" Holland says, "This event is a time to remind all Americans that Social Security is alive and well." Denouncing President Bush's and Rep. Mike Pence's statements that the system is in a crises, Holland, A Senior Citizen, paraphrasing the Congressional Budget Office's statement that "With the $1.7 trillion Social Security surplus, funds are available to keep the system going, paying all benefits, without increasing taxes or decreasing benefits, until 2052, and after that funding 80% of the program." Holland continued saying, "This date of 2052 is forty seven years from now, so where is the crises?" Continuing, Holland, A Christian, stated that "All Christians should work to protect and keep the program intact as it is! Social Security is more than a retirement plan. This wonderful program keeps over 13 million seniors above the poverty line. Without Social Security, nearly half of the elderly population have incomes below the poverty line! In Indiana, a recent study has shown that, without Social Security, that 51.5% of our Seniors would have incomes below the poverty line. With Social Security, 341,000 Indiana Seniors are lifted above the poverty level. One in five seniors have Social Security as their only Income!" Centering his comments on Christians, Holland said, "Children are very precious to Jesus! I consider our children to be our most valuable assets and resources. I will not stand silent as Bush, Pence, and the Republican Party leadership "loot" the future surpluses until 2018. This amounts to over $ 600 billion taken away from future Social Security payments and the needy! Social Security benefits over five million children, keeping over a million children out of poverty each month! " Continuing, Holland then stressed, "One in three Social Security beneficiaries is also a disabled worker or the family member of a worker who has become disabled or dies. Social Security is truly a safety net for the elderly, the disabled, children, orphans and widows! It must be protected!" Citing other sources, Holland said, "I agree with the statement made by the Alliance for Retired Americans, that 'Privatization will destroy Social Security!' Also N.Y. Times Columnist, Economist Paul Krugman's excellent article, of 08-15-05, Social Security Lessons. states, 'Many pundits and editorial boards still give Mr. Bush credit for trying to "reform" Social Security. In fact, Mr. Bush came to bury Social Security, not to save it. Over time, the Bush plan would have transformed Social Security from a social insurance program into a mutual fund, with nothing except a name in common with the system F.D.R. created. In addition to misrepresenting his goals, Mr. Bush repeatedly lied about the current system.' Holland challenged Rep.Mike Pence , "To explain to the Sixth District voters, why you want to 'shaft the little guy' by looting the Social Security surpluses of over $ 600 billion and also create over a trillion dollars of new additional debt in order to benefit the 'robber baron' banks and investment firms, who profit from these personal accounts!" Holland concluded, "I urge all Christians to stand with Jesus, protecting Social Security and the needy and speak out against Bush and Pence looting our surpluses for the corporate greedy." |
