As a U.S. veteran, my allegiance is to America, not to Israel, President Bush, or the Republican Party. Sadly, most Americans do not grasp or care about the tragic consequences of the invasion of Iraq which will haunt America for years and eventually start a nuclear war! After nearly three years of this needless, endless, not winnable, criminal war; for Bush and Cheney to label anyone who wants immediate withdrawal from Iraq as "irresponsible" is another new low for these two draft dodging, warmongering, cowardly liars.. I have opposed this war and occupation since 2002 and this war has failed because it is based on lies, deceit and greed, which is criminal and is completely contrary to Christ's teachings! Why should our troops continue to suffer and die for Bush's, Rep. Pence's and Congress's lies and Israel's interests? Bush's 'Noble Cause' and Pence's support for this carnage is not the American way, but barbaric and criminal and a betrayal of America's trust and our Christian and American values! There were no WMD, there is no exit plan or plan for Victory! Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatowski, who "blew the whistle" on the pro-Israeli neo-cons' contrived plans to invade Iraq, wrote last Christmas; "The American invasion of Iraq was based on lies, as has been the continued American occupation of her major cities." As a Christian and veteran, I am trying to save American lives and lessen the casualties from this criminal carnage by wanting our troops home now! What is wrong with that? What has been gained from this war of lies and deceit? The war casualties continue and over two hundred and twenty billion dollars has been spent on Bush's & Congress's war lies! One analyst has projected an eventual cost of over a trillion dollars in caring for the mental and physical injuries to our troops! Sending our troops back to Iraq for third and even fourth combat tours is a practice I consider criminal, barbaric and fascist! Do Americans really believe that God blesses America and this criminal barbarism? Jesus Christ, The Prince of Peace is God's messenger! Who would Jesus torture and murder? For Bush to portray himself as "god's messenger" is blasphemous and mocks God! With this war, Bush and Congress make a mockery and blasphemy of the words, "under God" in our pledge of allegiance! Christians should not jeopardize their salvation by supporting or being apathetic and indifferent to this criminal war! God does not bless this war! Jesus is weeping! George T.
